![]() These have numbers (your RTW in-game resolution) In this file, you will need to adjust 2 values: Or: "C:\.\.\Rome Total War Gold\preferences" (or whatever, for non-steam users) In that folder, go to the folder called "preferences", so that would be "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rome Total War Gold\preferences" (for steam users) For the Disc-version of RTW, go to your install folder of RTW. ![]() (On my system I did not have Steam install into the "program files"-folders, but I created a different "games" folder on my C drive.) "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rome Total War Gold" For the steam version of RTW (or RTW Gold) go to your steam folder, for example: Press OK on this and the previous "Properties" screen. Hit the "apply" button in the bottom-right. Also check the box saying "Run as administrator". Select the box called "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 7" from the scroll-down menu. Go to the tab called "Compatibility" and look all the way down to "Change settings for all users". Right-click on those and go to "Properties". To make RTW work, go to your install-folder for RTW and locate the files: "RomeTW.exe" and "RomeTW-BI.exe". It seems like a lot of text, but it's just to cover every nimble-bimble-n00b-step along the way guys <3 THIS FIX IS FOR PLAYING ROME:TOTAL WAR AND ROME:TOTAL WAR - BARBARIAN INVASION on Windows 10 I think what was missing was copying the dx9 libraries into the game folder and maybe the NVIDIA max prerender setting. P.S.: Sorry for my english is not my native language. It finally worked thanks to HazardHawk's guide on Steam Community: I hope that you take a look to this post / thread and that you will be able to fix this situation, I've paid for a game to show you that I love your game, please, fix it. Your game is so great, but you've to know that there are many people still playing from Germany, France, Italy and Spain, not only from England, USA or other english speaker countries, don't forget from us I've adapted all the files from RTW GOLD Edition needed by Alexander expansion to work properly, taking them from the retail spanish versions (RTW GOLD Edition and Alexander) and everything is working well. I'm from Spain and the spanish depot (you can check it in ) for Alexander expansion is broken, it hasn't all the files in Spanish, there are texts and voices in English (I think that for german, french and italian happens the same) because of the incorrect method to install the expansion not like an add-on, if not like a stand alone game. This isn't a stupid thing, in the reatil version Alexander was installed in the RTW GOLD or standard edition directory and its size was 400-500 MB, but in Steam, Alexander installation size is 2.87 GB because its installation folder is a different directory with the files of RTW GOLD Edition (data folder from RTW). ![]() If you don't have plans to convert Alexander in DLC for RTW GOLD Edition, at least you can make that the installation folder for expansion Alexander be the same installation folder that for RTW main game. Is there any plan to convert Alexander expansion into a DLC for Rome: Total War GOLD Edition?, for example, you did this with Kingdoms expansion for Medieval 2: Total War.ΔΆ.Installation directory (problems and required disk space) This is a "letter" for the developers, but I want to know what do you think about it (community).
